Riversdale Beach Surf Life Saving Club

We have had a close relationship with Riversdale Beach, with both Director Jon Devine and ex-Director Peter Smith owning beach houses at the settlement, so it was natural for us to be approached by the local community to provide engineering advice for the new Surf Club building.

The new building was fundraised, designed and built within a very short time frame, which reflected the hard work and dedication of the community, driven by the Club President David Rose (Rosey).

Jon worked closely with Rosey to refine the design to make the most economic building that could cater for the most use for the community. Spencer Holmes Limited provided the structural and fire engineering design for the building, and also helped with the fundraising.

The building is not only a Club house, but also includes the toilets and changing rooms for the beach and a First Aid facility for the community.

The new Club was operational a few days before Christmas 2016, in time for the Surf Patrols and the Nipper program that started after Boxing Day which has over 120 kids using the Club house on a daily basis over the summer holidays.

The building performed successfully through its first season and will serve the community well for a long time to come.
